Certification through the testing category is now open via an electronic exam. The exam is offered during four exam windows throughout the year; June, September, December and March. To sit for the exam, candidates register by submitting an application for the Board to review; then, using the “Web Assessor” program, they take their exam at a designated testing facility in their area. There are hundreds of computer centers throughout the United States.

ABUCM Designated Credentials
Are you board certified in Ambulatory/Urgent Care Medicine by the American Board of Urgent Care Medicine? If so, it is best to refer to yourself as a Diplomate of the American Board of Urgent Care Medicine, rather than listing the acronym ABUCM on your letterhead or after your signature. You may use any of the following to designate your credential: Diplomate, American Board of Urgent Care Medicine; Diplomate, ABUCM; or D,ABUCM. Using only the acronym ABUCM as your credential is often confusing or misleading, as it infers that you, the individual are an officer or Board Member of the ABUCM. Please help to ensure we convey the correct message that the ABUCM is the certifying authority and that you are board certified in ambulatory/urgent care medicine and thus a Diplomate. For further information, please contact the ABUCM at 407-521-5789 or send an email by clicking Contact Us.
